Introduction to the Web Development Process.
This Web development white paper serves as a guide to get customers acquainted
to the Web development process as well to familiarize prospective clients with
key terminology, tips, advice, and some Web development best practices.
The purpose of this guide is to provide the reader with the necessary
knowledge to make informed decisions regarding the critical aspects of the Web
development process in relaxation to the development and design process of
their Web sites.

needs. This guide shall serve as a brief introduction to the Web development
process and will highlight the key areas of the planning phase as well as
the Web development, deployment and post deployment phases of building a
Web site.
The first half of the guide will review the planning and preparation processes
including, planning the site, defining the purpose of your Web site,
identifying and focusing on a target audience. Addiotionally this
section of the guide will cover choosing the best Web page layout to
effectively communicate your message to your target customers as well deciding
on the best overall site hierarchy and navigation structure for your Web
site.
The second half of the guide shall serve as a reference to the actual
development, deployment, and post deployment process of the site
development life cycle. It will touch upon topics such as Web
development, Web site deployment, defining
a budget, determing the goals of the project, internet
marketing and Web site promotion advice
. This section of the guide includes addiotional advice that you
will find useful the completetion of the development process. This
section also expands upon the benefits scaling the
project a fully integrated customer centric solution, such as a web
site that offers advanced features like new articles, newsletters, blogs, RSS
feeds, and podcasting. If you don't know what some of these things are,
don't worry I will explain them as we go. You can also
find most of the terminology definitions in the guide glossary.
At the end of guide you will find the glossary, appendix and then any
references including diagrams and tables of the matter discussed in the guide.
This guide was designed to be read from beginning to end, but feel free to jump
to the subject most interests you or skim the pages as you see fit.
